His Majesty the King bestowed the name of the school "Rajavinit Mathayom" which means" a place for training children of secondary level to be good citizens of His Majesty" On April 4, 1978 the announcement for school establishment was made by the Ministry of Education. While the school was under contruction, the students had to study at Rajavinit School for 2 years and moved to the present site in 1980. Two old royal carriage shelters were improved to provide more space for students in addition to the new buildings. For the first year at the new site, there were 12 classrooms of Grade 7, 7 Grade 8, 6 Grade 9.
